Software Training Track 1

Track 1 training will consist of two parts. There will be a self paced Java instruction and two short hands-on lectures of how to operate the robot.

The preferred Java tutorials are codiva.io and List of Assignments. Codiva is handy as it can be run from a cell phone without any installation. The Graham Mitchell series is intended to be run from a PC and requires the user to install a specific version of the Java Runtime Environment.

The how to operate robot steps are as follows:

1. Block up robot and ensure wheels do not touch anything.
2. Find a battery and test voltage
3. Find a laptop and login
4. Verify that circuit breaker is open, install battery, close circuit breaker (turn on bot)
5. From the laptop, locate wireless network and connect
6. From laptop, bring up drive station
