Radio

The radio is used to communicate wirelessly with the roboRio on the robot. The radio is an OM5P WiFi device. It has custom FIRST software which allows it to be configured (flashed). The radio must be configured before it can be used. At a competition the radio is reconfigured to work with the field network. It must be reconfigured before it can be used again. The basic configuration procedure is provided in FIRST documentation. The link for 2020 is at:

Specific settings for our team are:

1. Ordered List ItemThe team number must be set to 151.
2. Ordered List ItemSet the Mode to be 5 GHz. There are a lot of devices operating at 2.4GHz which can cause communication issues.
3. Ordered List ItemSet the Robot Name to the year listed on the radio. We get a new radio every year. This allows us to be able to operate multiple radios at once. For the example above the network SSID will appear as 151_2019.
